Seven years and going strong, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Steubenville, Ohio served more than 600 meals on Christmas Day to the city’s less fortunate.
No questions asked is the church’s policy and strangers were welcomed into the community center for a traditional Christmas meal– with a Greek twist.
The church has a long-standing tradition with food, as its annual Greek festival is known throughout the region.
“This is our way of saying thank you to the community of giving back, “ said Spiro Alexander, the volunteer coordinator at the church who spoke to the local news, “and we want to be able to return that to our community.”
