Angelina Jolie continued her visit to Greece, meeting with prime minister Alexis Tsipras and offering her support to the Greek government in her capacity as special envoy to the United Nations High Commission on Refugees.
Jolie told Tsipras: “I am here in Greece to support the efforts of the UNHCR and the Greek government to deal with the deteriorating humanitarian crisis.”
Jolie was mobbed by media and refugees at the port of Piraeus, where thousands of refugees await transport.
Jolie will focus her efforts on the challenges facing vulnerable refugees, including unaccompanied children and single mothers, according to a story in People Magazine.
