She’s the proud granddaughter of Greek immigrants who has often used her Greek heritage as inspiration for her international success and now, Chef Cat Cora continues that tradition with a Loukoumades recipe that she hopes, will break the stigma of cannabis use, particularly for medical purposes.
In a television show by Viceland, available by subscription on the channel, Cora creates traditional Greek loukoumades, infused with pot.
During the segment, the show’s host asks her what her mother would say, knowing she’s cooking with cannabis.
The best-selling cookbook author and Iron Chef winner responds in a surprising way.
This isn’t the first time Cat Cora has touched on controversial topics rarely exposed in the public eye. In her book “Cooking as Fast as I Can: A Chef’s Story of Family, Food, and Forgiveness,”she exposed years of sexual abuse while growing up by a family member and opened up about topics seen as taboo not only amongst celebrities, but also Greeks.

Not as taboo as you think. Ancient Greek sailors smoked kanavia from the plants they used to make sails. Murad, the SUltan who took Constantinople, died of burst gut from too much morphine constipation.
