The team arrives today and fans are already at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport waiting to greet their favorite Greek soccer team, Olympiacos. The team beat AC Milan in yesterday’s tournament opener in Toronto 3-0 and sparked fireworks inside the stadium by Greek fans.

Chicago Greeks will have the next opportunity as Olympiacos travels to the Windy City to play Liverpool on Sunday, July 27th at 5pm at Soldier Field. The team will be welcomed with open arms, thanks to a popular support group and children’s camp, founded and run by avid Olympiacos fan Yiannis Kosmas.
Olympiacos selected Chicago as the location for its first US soccer school and player development camp. The club also has academies across the world, including Greece, Cyprus and Australia.
The team is the most successful club in Greek soccer history, having won 38 League titles, 24 Greek Cups and 4 Greek Super Cups; more titles than any other Greek team.
A series of events and receptions are planned to welcome the Greek team, including a UNICEF fundraiser in Greektown and opportunities to meet and greet the team.
Olympiacos Chicago has reserved game tickets for the match so that all Olympiacos supporters sit together.
