I hope this email finds you and yours well.
This is difficult for me but I need to share some unfortunate news, in the hopes of helping my brother. About one month ago my oldest brother, George Katsimatides, was diagnosed with kidney failure. His kidneys are currently operating at 15%. Finding a kidney donor is urgent at this time.
George is only 52 yrs old, Blood type B and compatible with blood type B & O. George is otherwise healthy with no other contributing illnesses like diabetes, uremia, fluid retention, toxicity, etc. He is currently feeling fine, dieting, exercising and doing his part to avoid dialysis, which can be quite debilitating. George, my mom and I are optimistic, but we are overwhelmed so please limit your contact unless necessary. Of course, prayers are always welcome.
We need to find someone willing to be a kidney donor ASAP. Please help my family spread the word far and wide. Ask those you are in touch with through your community, church, social media networks, etc. If you know any medical professionals we would welcome their guidance and advice. George is working with doctors at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. If you would like to talk confidentially about kidney donation visit this link on Columbia’s website.
You can email me directly if needed (AnthoulaKats@me.com). Grateful for your support.
My family and I greatly appreciate your efforts.
Thank you,
Anthoula
