Gregory Pappas, publisher of The Pappas Post, is leading a special experiential trip to Greece called “Liomazema,” a week-long, custom-designed journey to the lush olive fields of one of Greece’s most beautiful regions.
We invite you to join us this November in the southern Peloponnese, which has produced some of the world’s richest olive oil since ancient times.
Our organized trip from Nov. 9-17 offers the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in an authentic Greek harvest experience with guidance from experienced professionals at Thalassa Journeys.
The itinerary includes all of your accommodation, meals and transportation within Greece as well as several cultural activities including participation in cooking demonstrations and visits to historic villages and sites in the Spartan region. All tours, activities and instructions will be in English.
What does an average day look like on the Liomazema Excursion?
Every morning guests will visit Eumelia, an organic family-owned grove of 600 olive trees whose owners will be our hosts and guides. Participants will learn about organic olive tree cultivation, how to differentiate extra virgin oil from ordinary oil and the health benefits of olive oil.
Guests will have the opportunity to amble through the picturesque medieval pathways of Mistra and Monemvasia, explore the magnificent Diros Cave and practice yoga amidst the majestic landscape of the Eumelia olive grove.
Participants will enjoy meals with ingredients from the grove’s organic garden, help pick the olives and witness the production of extra virgin olive oil at the olive mill.
