The producers of “OLYMPIA DUKAKIS: UNDEFINED”, a documentary about the life and career of Oscar-winning screen and theater actress Olympia Dukakis has announced the attachment of two new Executive Producers, Christos V. Konstantakopoulos and Gregory C. Pappas. Both have deep involvement within the Greek community, impressive film credits and vast experience in various media formats.
Christos joined the film industry in 2008 with the feature film The Riders of Pylos by Nikos Kalogeropoulos. This gave birth to Faliro House Productions, named after his hometown in Palaio Faliro, Athens, Greece. Since then Faliro House has produced or co-produced twenty two feature films, including Before Midnight (2013) by Richard Linklater, (Nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay – 2014 Academy Awards); Stratos (2014) by Yannis Economides (Berlinale 2014); Love Is Strange (2014); by Ira Sachs (Sundance 2014); Miss Violence (2013); by Alexandros Avranas, (Best Director, Best Male Lead – Venezia 2013); Only Lovers Left Alive (2013) by Jim Jarmusch (Cannes 2013); Somebody Up There Likes Me (2012) by Bob Byington (Special Jury Prize – Locarno 2012); Alps (2011) by Giorgos Lanthimos (Best Script – Venezia 2011); Attenberg (2010) by Athina Rachel Tsangari (Best Female Lead – Venezia 2010); and Take Shelter (2011) by Jeff Nichols (Critics Week Grand Prize – Cannes 2011, Grand Prize – Deauville 2011). In post-production among others are Knight Of Cups and Untitled Malick Project V by Terrence Malick, Midnight Special by Jeff Nichols, Untitled by Bob Byington, Chevalier by Athina Rachel Tsangari and Lobster by Yorgos Lanthimos.
Gregory C. Pappas has spent most of his life in public relations, production and marketing, running his own company and handling client needs throughout the world. He is also founded – and continues to run as a volunteer – a non-profit organization called The Greek America Foundation that provides scholarship and fellowship opportunities for young people, and hosts some of the most prominent events in the Greek North American community, including the Gabby Awards and the National Innovation Conference. He is also the publisher of The Pappas Post, a news and information portal covering global Greek issues. He has produced numerous short films, including the award-winning short “The Foreigner,” as well as “Irene and Marie,” which starred Olympia Dukakis. His first foray into film was “Hello Anatolia,” a travel-documentary about a Greek American who travels to Turkey in search of his family’s roots. He is currently in production of “No Man is an Island,” a film about the Holocaust in Greece.
“It’s a pleasure to have these two producers join OLYMPIA DUKAKIS: UNDEFINED, they’re not only talented in the areas of film and media, but also deeply rooted in the Greek community, that makes it that much more special.” said producer Muriel Moraes of the newly attached EPs.
