With collaborations with the top names in the business and hundreds of millions of views on her YouTube videos, it was only a matter of time that Vassy would also add a number one song to her already-illustrious career resume.
And it happened this week when “Nothing to Lose” topped the U.S. Dance Charts coming in at Number One.
A native of Australia, Vassy moved to the United States to pursue a career in music. She scored early success and with a cult-dance classic History and it was all success moving forward. In addition to her soulful vocals, songs she has written have been featured everywhere including, Target, Nickelodeon, Sketchers, Victoria’s Secret, Pepsi commercials, Grey’s Anatomy, and even Disney’s “Frozen.”
But the dance floor is where Vassy has made the biggest impact.
Club goers from Moscow to Miami stop on the dance floor when the first beats of her hit song BAD, a collaboration with David Guetta and Showtek, begin pumping from the speakers. The song— certified a whopping seven times double platinum— has over 625 million views on YouTube.
Another A-list collaboration with Tiësto— considered royalty in the electronic music world— and KSHMR, called secrets has also been huge for Vassy with hundreds of millions of views and mainstream status amongst dance club goers globally.
Vassy’s main calling card is her Greek heritage. She’s everywhere in the nationwide Greek American community, giving of her time and her talents for various causes and events.
Although born in Australia to Greek immigrant parents and now living full time in the United States, Greece and all things Greek remain in Vassy’s heart. She returns to Greece often, even playing on huge stages like the Mad TV Video Music Awards.
