Kevin Spacey gave young directors the opportunity to compete in a short film competition, produced by his own Oscar winning company and each starring Uma Thurman, and sponsored by Jameson Whiskey. Director/writers were given the opportunity to submit their scripts in the competition and the winners shot their films with Spacey’s help and expertise.
South African director Henco J wrote and directed “Mundane Goddess” and won one of the 2014 awards.
In his winning film, Uma Thurman stars as Hera, the Greek Queen of the Goddesses. The short film is about the Greek gods living out mundane lives in the modern world and focuses on an unhappy Hera. Things turn around for the Queen of Olympus when she decides to see a therapist.
