Thousands of Santas March in Hania, Crete for Children with Special Needs

A tradition continues on the island of Crete that started five years ago as a way to bring people together to raise funds and awareness for kids with special needs.

The Hanna Santa Run, now having completed its 6th year, has raised hundreds of thousands of euro for charities.

The movement, which includes almost 10,000 registered santas, actually began as an idea of a group of friends that wanted to do something for their city.

All of the proceeds from the registration fees raised by organizers go to charities in the city that help children with disabilities.
