Plans were revealed in Athens, showcasing what the new Astir Palace resort will look like after its $700 million renovation.
The iconic resort, host to international jetset and thousands of tourists over the past six decades, closed in mid November with U.S. President Barack Obama as its final guest.
The two hotels, an adjacent beach, as well as public spaces around the Vouliagmeni peninsula will undergo renovations.
A new area of the peninsula will also be developed that will host a dozen luxury homes for sale.
The year and a half-long renovation will be completed in April 2018 when the resort will reopen to the public.
