Sea Level Rise Transforms Athens Metro into Greek Islands

(Acrapolis News Network) Opponents of global warming needn’t look beyond Greece to see the rising oceans phenomenon overcome that nation, as the subterranean Athens Metro system has been transformed into a giant beach.

Sand and water has flooded most of the stations and travelers are dealing with having to take their shoes off while riding trains to and from their destinations to avoid becoming one with the ocean water.

A large section of the mighty West Antarctica ice sheet has begun falling apart and its continued melting now appears to be unstoppable, two groups of scientists reported, sending ocean levels rising throughout the world.

Greek officials said they cannot combat what they called a “global phenomenon” and will give in to nature, encouraging passengers who might not be able to afford going to the beach to enjoy it on their way to work, instead.
