I stumbled across a photo that Kim Kardashian posted on her Instagram page that looked familiar.
It was. It was a sunset in Mykonos– something I’m very familiar with as I’ve experienced hundreds of them myself.
After further inspection and google searching of “Kim Kardashian in Greece” I was amazed to see that the entire world knew that she and her whole family were there– except me.
Admittedly, I don’t follow, share, or tweet anything “Kardashian.” But I do recognize the success of a nobody family that’s been able to become one of the most recognizable names in the world. Bravo to them. This is what America is all about.
Interestingly, I posted the Instagram on my Facebook and received a whole slew of feedback from people. Some saw it as offensive that Kim Kardashian was even in Greece and others saw the publicity value for Greece.
After a bit of snooping on the related Kardashian Facebook, Twitter and Instagram profiles, a single post of Kim’s is reached by tens of millions of people– perhaps more than any ad campaign of a broke and visionless Tourism Ministry can achieve.
I’m not a fan of the Kardashians but I join in the chorus of people who welcome them to Greece… Keep posting Kim, keep sharing the photos of sunsets and sea vistas.
Continue showing the world “the real Greece” and help counter the image that Greece is all riots, fires and demonstrations.

….isn’t that Santorini in the Instagram photos she posted? I can recognize that caldera anywhere!
Yes! Check out Kim’s Instagram for the Mykonos sunset shots!

Dont forget the piles of human excrement complete with paper skids and rotting dead dogs at the side of every Athens car park.
When stopping at a beauty spot to enjoy the view.. Hold your nose & dont look down!
And why stigmatise Kim Kardashian one asks? Most of my Greek friends (especially the females) would DIE to have her lifestyle. Greek people are not far behind the Kardashians or the Shahs of Sunset crowd as I understand it – many indeed relish these types of vapid, superficial rogues.
