A British couple have caused outrage on the Greek island of Rhodes with a wedding photo in which the couple perform a sex act in front of a Greek Orthodox monastery, leading the head of the island’s Greek Orthodox Church to ban future foreign weddings.
The groom, Matthew Lunn, posted a photo of his new wife Carly on Facebook as she knelt in her white dress, appearing to perform oral sex on her new husband.
No one expected the international reaction as the photo soon went viral and eventually reached local news media on Rhodes and Metropolitan Kyrillos, the head of the island’s Greek Orthodox Church.
Kyrillos announced a decision to ban all foreign weddings at the monastery of St Paul, a popular venue for British tourists where hundreds of dream weddings take place every year.
Giorgos Eleftheriou, president of the local Lindos community in Rhodes, told The Times of London “We are Greek and we cherish our traditions and the sanctity of our religious sites. We cannot allow this disgusting behavior to prevail.”
Eleftheriou added that the ban by the Greek Orthodox Metropolitan leaves hundreds of British couples scrambling to change their wedding plans.
“I have hundreds of soon-to-be brides from Britain and all over the world calling me today in tears because of this decision,” he said.

Good for the Metropolitian and Shame on the. bride for lowering herself and slowing a photo and disgracing A Holy Place as the Monestary
Shame on the both of them……..Low life!
All british should be banned from mediterranean.
Be pigs in your own wilthy island!
What a pair of c–ts!….Are they stupid or what? Who in their right minds would ever dream of even doing this let alone posting it on social media……Greece has standards, these two idiots obviously have none! But they’ve spoiled it for everyone else now. In their own little idiotic way they probably think they were smart or clever, but the wider world know exactly what they are!
It only shows you how much self worth the bride had with herself and the stupidity of the two to perform such an act.
We should ban foreign civil weddings in Greek Orthodox churches unless you are orthodox.
This is how our churches are in Australia where you need to show your credentials.
Well down the church in Rhodes to show we are not for sale even to these tourists who think they are above our cultural past.
I agree what was done was not right and disrespectful to everyone. The ones that should be dealt with are the ones that were involved in this stupid act, starting from the bride and groom to the photographer as well the ones that allowed it to be posted on social media for everyone to see. Bottom line. PUNISH THE ONES THAT NEED PUNISHING!! NOT THE ONES THAT MEAN GOOD! NOT ALL XENIE! ARE BAD AND DISRESPECTFUL. You are accusing everyone of wrong doing which is not the right way to look at the situation.. What if it was a Greek couple from Greece? would you banded all Greek couples getting married from the church…Just my thoughts on this.. thanks..
Greeks have higher standards and would not have “stooped” to this lewd behavior at a church
Disgusting and so disrespectful
Trump your comment is just as disrespectful as the picture. You should be banned from ever entering the UK. Idiot.
Very disrespectful! And while you’re at it, tell the queen to give that to the Greeks what belongs to the Greeks, all art, it does not belong to the British, the Greeks were the scholars the philosophers the Scientists! And while I’m at it, let me see this the Olympic Games should be held in Greece every four years! AND ONLY IN GREECE!
Nicholas what a load of rubbish you have written,I detect a touch of sour grapes.Your country could not afford to run the Olympic games once let alone every four years.
Trump l agree that what this couple did was both disgusting and disrespectful and they should not be allowed to return to Greece, There are good and bad people in every country, Your comment however was that of an uneducated moron
