In a jump from near the bottom to the number one spot, the official song from Cyprus is now the favorite to win, according to odds-makers who follow the Eurovision Song Contest taking place this weekend in Lisbon, Portugal.
The song— Fuego, performed by Greek pop singer Eleni Foureira, is an upbeat dance tune that has captured the hearts and rhythms of journalists and onlookers during the official rehearsals.
For weeks, the Israeli entrant, Netta Barzilai was the longstanding favorite amongst Eurovision bookies (and groupies) but a sudden jump by Foureira bumped the Israeli to the second spot after the official jury rehearsal took place
