Cosmo Wenman, a 3D printing pioneer from Southern California, announced plans to 3D-scan plaster casts of ancient Greek sculptures at The Skulpturhalle Basel museum in Switzerland. He wants to put the life-size 3D scans and 3D printable models online at no cost so that anyone with a 3D printer - teachers, students, artists, art lovers - will be able to print their own copies. Wenman is seeking funding through a Kickstarter campaign which he launched on June 6. He’s hoping to raise $35,000.
